From Kevin Alferink:

WMO Members, I am writing to inform you of my resignation as the CFO of West Michigan Offshore. These past couple years have been a lot of fun and work.  It’s been very exciting to see the club’s growth. With the growth, comes a lot more time and work; more than I have time to dedicate now in my life with my young family and my career. I simply do not have the spare time available anymore to give WMO 100% that the members deserve. I have made a lot of new lifelong friends and memories along the way. It’s been my privilege getting to see the lives that have been impacted by the club and its members with many “Make-a-Wish” wishes granted. I wish WMO the best and am excited to see what is to come.

Sincerely, Kevin Alferink, CFO, West Michigan Offshore.

From Derek Powers:

Board, members and sponsors,

After much consideration, I have decide to resign for my position on the board of WMO.  My decision was made so that I could spend more time with and focus on my family and career. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of a vision that has brought powerboating back to west Michigan. I have confidence in the new board members that they will continue to improve WMO and bring new ideas to the table that will bring WMO to new levels.

Regards,

Derek Powers

From Jeff Tibbe:

After a lot of consideration, I’ve decided to step down from the West Michigan Offshore board. This is completely a family-driven decision as I feel led to spend more quality time with my family.

I fully support the continued vision of the club and the efforts to turn performance boating into something that can make a big difference in our community. I also want to thank each of our board members, without each of you and your unique gifts, the club simply would not be where it is today.  From the risky proposition of starting a non-profit organization with no guarantees – we never would have expected the overwhelming support of our amazing sponsors and members. Every year has brought new challenges and with a growing membership and we’ve had to adapt very quickly.

While there is still much to do and improvements that can be made, I know the new team in place has the potential to make an even bigger impact on the community and drive family-friendly boating that will be great for all of us.

The last 3 years have been a lot of fun with many friendships developed from people that I otherwise would never have met or would have continued to just wave to in the channel. I’m looking forward to more club events and meeting more of you on and off the water.

Sincerely, Jeff Tibbe – VP and Membership Chair
